The seller doesn't give the call number of this rare Panasonic RF-1170, which may keep it off the radar screen. Starting bid is $10.

This radio is a monster of performer in AM and FM highly recommended, I´ve got this one and its twin SW version brother the RF-1180 and they are among the hottest receiver I´ve seen.
And talking of performers I have to say that after many months, of testing, adjusting and buying radios I´ve finally found the best performers in MW:
The three best MW DX portable radios ever offered are in this order:
1. The GE SRI and II because has great audio, very good domestic station selectivity, excellent sensitivity and great battery life.
2. The CCrane's positives are very good sensitivity and domestic selectivity; plus digital readout.
3. The Panasonic RF-2200 remains an engineering marvel. Besides the analog readout, the audio and battery life are great, and that rotating MW antenna is handy.

It would be hard to disagree with those AM brutes. They are truly AM muscle men.
