Today on Sports Talk Radio, either 570 or 710 Los Angeles, someone talked about a teaching aid Forty-Niner head coach Jim Harbaugh developed for the team: a fictional character, a four-inch creature named Freddy P. Soft, who is always tempting you to let up, reduce your workouts, and generally lapse into self-satisfied complacency.
We all have such a voice steering us into mediocrity, laxity, and sloth. I need to warn my college students, and myself, of this universal creature.
The real Super BOwl is this Sunday, as the Patriots play the Ravens... The NFC championship game is just for the rights to lose to the AFC.

I do exercise every day yet I never really want to. I find one thing that makes it easier is to start with more leisurely exercise. That requires less willpower but after I have done it a bit then I find that in doing it I can somehow overcome the lack of willpower for the less leisurely part even if I lacked such willpower at the beginning.
Also I don't know if you ever picked up the Willpower book that you refer to in this post: http://herculodge.typepad.com/herculodge/2011/09/the-willpower-to-avoid-sugar-requires-sugar-and-other-dilemmas.html but I did and its excellent.

I haven't read the Willpower book yet but plan on looking at it as a text for my critical thinking class.
I love to exercise. The problem is I'm always hungry.
