This is actually an idea I've had for a while now - I've tried accomplishing this with a computer, without much success.
The only downside is that some AM stations actually broadcast with a larger delay than you get on TV, meaning that you would need to delay the video, not the audio.
On a somewhat related note, I took an online casino (I won't mention which one) back in 2008 for about $3,000 betting on live action using a radio feed (since they had satellite feed), sometimes knowing the result of the play while you could still bet on its outcome. They eventually reduced my bet limit down to $1 and threatened to close my account.
