From everything I've read, the film was just a catalyst at the very most. Many factors conflated upon this film, which seems a proxy for deeper resentments.

I concede we have a problem as those articles explain but the violence feeds the problem. Thus alas a vicious cycle has been set into motion. This won't go away.
