Regarding your recent discussions on watch pricing, thought this might put it in perspective: 

The 25th annual LA International Pen Show will be open to the public Sunday, Feb 17, from 10 am to 5 pm at the Manhattan Beach Marriott. The show is one of the largest of its kind, featuring vintage, modern and limited pens, that range from $10 to $300,000 (!!)... 

And you thought watches were overpriced. 

I advise you not to go; wouldn't want to be responsible for starting another addiction!

The guys at Watch City didn't call me (too busy?don't want to deal with a watch obsessive?forgot?) but it reminds me a lot of the 45mm Citizen Eco Drive CA0307-51H in gunmetal gray. 

I notice there's also a non chrono version unlike the one I saw at Watch City but very nice, the Eco Drive AW1-95-54E.

A Couple for the Wish List: Helson Shark Diver and Kemmner Octopus 2000

Pricey but toolish in a good way, that is to say, they are excellent examples of the manly watch aesthetic and remind me why the Seiko Black Monster is the best looking $200 watch out there. These go on my someday wish list:

On Jonny's most recent post, he features a watch conceived by the Watchuseek community. I like its design so I guess I'm on board with those who came up with this one. Highly articulated stainless steel bezel, giant lume markers, toolish looking.
