For the first couple years of my watch obsession, I'd only buy chronographs, but then I eventually stopped buying them altogether, or only rarely. This started happening when I got into Seikos in the Fall of 2012 - so I think the SKA425, Black Monster, etc, where my first non-chronos.

I've come to really like chronographs again, although they remain the minority in my collection - two of my thirteen watches are chronographs and when I eventually whittle down the collection to the 6-8 range, it will only be one.

I don't find the colors appealing - pale blue and orange all over the dial. A bit too cartoonish, or something.

I'm not even a big fan of the date function. To many months without 31 days and I don't like the idea of continuing to reset the date over and over----always the case with mechanicals/automatics that aren't worn daily.

The nice thing about my Citizen Courageous is that I never have to re-set it or change the date dial - it has a complex setting that knows which month it is and also accounts for daylight savings. Very cool.

I have digitals (Casio G-Shock as well as a cheaper one) that never require the date to be reset----unless the battery runs out----but I don't believe they account for daylight savings time. I was a big fan of chronos or any watch complication----the busy dial looked more technical and interesting to me. But over time, I've began to admire the simplicity and function of a watch that tells the time in a big, clear way---without any distractions. My collection has both and I like wearing both. Do you guys have gunmetal cases/bracelets left in your collections? I just sold two nice gunmetal watches (both deeper shades). Most of what I've seen in your collections lately looks like standard stainless.

My radio-controlled watches -- two Casio digitals and one Citizen analog chrono -- adjust for DST automatically. They also automatically handle "short" months, of course.
