Looking for balance in my collection of mostly tool divers, I've been on the prowl for entry-level luxury that has a jewel-like quality.
For entry-level luxury between $700-$800 ballpark, Citizen seems to have found the sweet spot. Enter the Citizen Grand Touring NB1031-53L with blue dial. Like the Citizen Grand Touring NB0070-57E with charcoal dial, the CGT blue dial has the highest grade Miyota movement, the 9012.
The blue dial's crown protector is bigger than the charcoal dial's, giving the blue dial a larger wrist presence. Both watches are featured as having 44mm bezels, but the blue dial plays more like a 45mm or 46mm.
It's nice to have a classy blue dial in the collection to give some pop to my drab gray and dark blue shirts.
Another Citizen that gives great luxury in the $700-$800 ballpark is the Citizen Promaster Sky. The black titanium model with Duratect coating shown here is my favorite.
Any watches on the horizon? Well, last night I dreamed I was wearing an Eco-Zilla with Suppa mods and a 24mm shark mesh.
