Interesting that the case of the Stevral looks a lot like the Invicta Sea Hunter----a kettle shape. Any idea why Benarus changed their name? I always thought it was way too close for comfort to Benrus, a long established watch manufacturer/brand.

Stevral is a hybrid of the business partners' names. I don't know if there's a Benrus legal angle. I decided to sell the watch. Like it, but don't love it.

I know the acres of lume is appealing to lume guys like you----but I never really liked the Benarus marker shapes----looks like Flintstones pavers or something. After posting my comment yesterday, I tried to research the name change. Nothing specific but some people did mention the possibility that Benarus was too close to Benrus. Also, almost universally, customers seemed to hate the new Stevral name. A couple people even posted that they would no longer buy the watches. That seems ridiculous----but I have to say, the idea of combining the two names for the new brand name is a little silly to me. It's like something two middle school kids would do to sell cookies. It's okay for something like that to be a corporate name that no one really hears----but the brand should have a stronger name/image.

Seems like a lazy way to form a brand name. And now that you mention it, there is a kid-like Flintstones look about the lume markers.

Flinstones or guitar picks. By the way----was meaning to ask you about your steel mesh bands. Do they have a sliding clasp to adjust the length, or do they have mostly mesh but some links on each end to adjust?

herculodge

I sold my Seiko SBDL027 with the shark mesh. It had links, but most don't. Mine was the $140 Strapcode model, which does have links. I won't buy any other type, especially the ones you cut.

Angelo

I've had them in the past with a clasp that unlocks---slides up or down on the mesh then locks again---basically changing the length of the mesh without cutting or removing/adding links. I just ordered a Tauchmeister diver from a seller in the UK----it has mesh but I'm not sure if it's after market mesh or original Tauchmeister. My preference is for the sliding clasp style---you could easily adjust the length on the fly. I guess I will know when I get it.

I assume that type is cheaper perhaps by half. I wonder how that would feel on the wrist. Okay?

Angelo

Received it today and it's similar to others I had in the past as I described. Yes, it's comfortable. In fact, where mesh lies over mesh (area where bracelet is shortened) it actually seems to stabilize the watch on my wrist. It's actually a Tauchmeister branded original mesh bracelet and I'm happy about that. The nice part is that it's easy to adjust it larger or smaller if my wrist size changes with weather or weight. Luckily it lies well on my wrist. Where the section of mesh ends, tucked under----I could see how that might pinch if it landed somewhere else. Looks to me like this would easily fit a 9.5 or larger wrist. Very adjustable to be large or small.

Whenever I think of a shark mesh, I really miss my Seiko SBDL027 on the Strapcode version. I should have never sold it. What a look on the shark.
