Write a 330-word argumentative paragraph that addresses the following question: Can a careful reading of Man's Search for Meaning conform to "Frankl Lite" (discussed in Lecture 4) or must we embrace "Full Potency Frankl"?
If you argue for Frankl Lite, you must refute the following objections to your argument:
One. Frankl Lite diminishes the heroism and self-sacrifice described in the book.
Two. Frankl Lite is little more than clichés, homilies, and truisms and therefore says nothing new about the human condition.
Three. Frankl Lite is a misinterpretation of Frankl’s message.
If you argue for Full Potency Frankl, you must refute the following objections to your argument:
One. Full Potency Frankl is unrealistic for those of us who are not thrust into an extreme circumstance such as Frankl.
Two. Don’t criticize Frankl Lite if a person who embraces it has overcome despair and nihilism. In other words, Frankl Lite is better than no meaning at all.
Three. Full Potency Frankl, which has unrealistic expectations, will intimidate many people who will remain fixated on their state of despair.
