The well-reviewed Eton E100 appears to be on its way out as it's being replaced later this month by the Grundig G6 Aviator, which features SSB. Both radios run on two AA batteries. Unlike the E100, the G6 includes an AC adaptor. According to Universal Radio, the G6 should be available April 15, 2008.

That's not the only new Grundig model. ...I'm starting to lust after the Satellit 750, at $300 street price...due in June. Look up the picture, you'll enjoy its hyper-macho military look! (I think it is also known as the Tecsun S2000).

I definitely love the look. But 300 dollars? Wow.

Funny, I just ordered the Kaito 1103 from Amazon today. The Grundig 750 is a Tecsun radio model S2000, I'll post a link in a few minutes.

China's Redsun makes the KA2100 table top radio for Kaito, click http://hkradioer.googlepages.com/redsun for a tour of the Redsun factory. BTW, most USA dealers are sold out of the Kaito KA2100 including Universal Radio.

Interesting. Because 2 weeks ago, I "bought" a Kaito 2100 on Universal but there was never any credit card activity. Nor did Universal contact me. Thanks for the link.

"Grundig" G6 Aviator, eh? Looks to me like a 1990's Radio Shack DX-375 with an awkwardly retrofitted tuning knob :

I owned one, nothing too impressive, pretty weak audio, although it wasn't a bad little AM DX'ing rig and lasted fairly long on batteries, if I recall.
Is there nothing they won't put the Grundig name on these days? If these designs were any older they'd be made out of Bakelite.

Yeah, they recycle the designs and think we forgot. Maybe I'll have to wait this summer for the Grundig Satelit 750.
