Better late than never, especially if the Grundig Satellit 750 proves to be as good as all the hype its enjoyed. We'll see. Dates keeps moving later and later. Now according to Universal Radio, the 750 will be on sale August 19. Let's hope that's true. And let's hope the 750 delivers, and it not just a radio chimera.

Given Eton's QC problems with the 800 and the E1, I see no reason why this one won't be more of the same: great design + poor manufacturing = a radio I will never purchase.
I got burned by the E1 and won't be back for more.
I'd much rather find an old Sanyo RP8800.

I'm with Terry on this one, more crap from Eton.

Wow, both of you are tried and tested and perhaps justifiably jaded radio buyers.
I'll take your advice and wait for the reviews to roll in though that doesn't help my website's reputation as being the first word on radios very well.

Universal Radio has had perform additional QC steps on all Eton products they sell due to Eton's high return rate.

I'll be that makes Universal happy about the delays. Why have early product if it's going to be recalled?

Tom, I received my 6289 yesterday. A fine radio but it's limited to the AC chord as its FM antenna and there are no screws for external FM attachment. Sounds good though.

BTW, dxer.ca has a thread about this which says Eton puts GS750 availability out to November at the earliest, possibly longer to the earthquake...it's hard to know what to make of all of it, that's why I just bought 2 new radios.

I hope it's delayed till 2009 so I won't be tempted to buy it till then. Jeff

I spoke with Eton sales this week. I was told that their resellers will receive the GS750 'shortly' to fullfill their first orders. After that it will be 2 1/2 months before any additional shipments. It was not made clear as to what 'shortly' time frame means, but gave the impression that would be 2 1/2 months before this Fall. So maybe first shipment this August, and second shipment in Novemeber by other statements on this forum.
