Encouraged by the effulgent reports of excellent performance on the newest offering of HD radio from Sony, the XDR-F1, I pulled the trigger and bought one on Amazon. The price was $99 minus a $25 coupon. At $75, I could not resist.
Because this is a radio tuner without speakers, buyers should be aware that you need to mate the tuner with a speaker system. I will be using my M-Audio AV-40 speakers.

Don't forget to apply for the $50 rebate.

I can't apply until I receive the radio. I hope they accept the receipt from the date of purchase.

Yup, they will, no worries there. You have till October 17 to send in the form, receipt, and UPC.

If you intend to apply for the $50 rebate be prepared to cut out the UPC code from the radio's (oops, tuner's) box. I wonder if this will reduce the resale value? I'm one of those anal people who keeps the packaging for most of my electronics with no intention of selling anything, so it was through gritted teeth I put the knife to the box. I held on to the box for a 20" NEC TV from 1987 to 2003 until for space reasons I had to throw it out. Am I traumatized? Of course not! One must learn to let go of material possessions...yeah right... Still have the TV. Works great.

Where do you keep all these boxes? You must have a special place.
