Using my blue rubber Tivoli PAL over the years, the radio developed a gooey substance. Its rubber coating took on a melted quality. One reader alerted me to the possibility of an extended warranty and to my surprise he was right. Tivoli has approved of an exchange. The blue rubber is no longer available. I had a choice between a new white and black one. I went with black.

And just as we should praise good customer service, I must condemn others, such as KAITO, for its incredibly BAD customer service. Caveat Emptor.

Worse than Kaito is the build quality of Redsun products. I'm done with Redsun unless anyone can prove they've made a turn.

I'm glad they are willing to stand behind their products, even after the standard warranty has expired.
I suppose you pay for it anyway, since Tivoli products are so expensive nowadays...

The PAL was $130 when I bought it in 2004. Now it goes for about a hundred dollars more. Ouch.

I wonder what Tivoli does with the ones they take back? Hell, if they had a fire sale on these, I'd buy one and encase the cabinet in contact paper or something. I'm sure the electronics are still good.

Nothing ever goes to waste in the electronics industry. Everything is refurbed and resold somewhere. Mexico is a prime re-seller's market.
