Paul, I owned this Sony tuner for a day and sold it. I hated it. By the time you connected the external AM antenna and speakers, you had more wires than Frankenstein's lab. Lousy AM. Mediocre FM. Oh, how I hated that radio. I was so relieved to sell it on Amazon.

I'm surprised. The Sony's AM is not great, but it's FM is spectacular with the supplied dipole. Here in Seattle it easily pulls in stations from Vancouver or Victoria (Canada).

Maybe I didn't hook up the dipole correctly. In any event, I'm glad I sold it. I've had no luck with HD radios, the Sony and the Sangean.
