Wow, it seems pricey for what you get. I do love listening to AM though.

AM stereo is big in Japan, as near as I can tell.

Though I am not so fanatic to claim AM stereo sounded better than FM stereo, I enjoyed wide band AM stereo in the '80s and '90s on my Sony CFS-6000. If I won the lottery I'd get this AM tuner. It's a nice piece of industrial design and the specs look good. Unfortunately there aren't many AM stereo stations left in California playing music, and IBOC HD just adds white noise when attempting to listen to wide band extended frequency response, mono or stereo. I'm afraid the AM stereo bird has left the coop. The horse has left the barn. Elvis has left the building...Happy birthday Elvis. He would've been 74 today.

My first memories of radio are on AM: Secretly playing a transistor radio under my covers at 9 years of age. The station: KFRC San Francisco. The ear plug went in one ear only. No stereo. The smell of the transistor as it warmed up somehow comforted me.
Once or twice my parents heard the music coming out of the ear plug and I was busted.
