Yes it is better because it's an additional tweeter and hence it sound better.. but in AM/FM reception it's the same because both shared the same electronic design and pieces.
In the link department another case of bad economy.... Panasonic RF-2200 Legend yesterday sold for a mere 102.50 Dls a far cry from yesterday's 250 Dls....

I got my 888 for $23.00 last year(It cleaned up beautifully and plays well on all bands.).
Sometimes, I don't think it's an economic pattern, but weird timing on listings. I've sold Zenith Trans-Oceanics and the range of winning bids is amazing for basically the same radio.
