It's the perfect 80's radio design in a number of ways, isn't it? I first saw the RP-8880 on a yahoo group devoted to the Grundig Satellit 750. Some of the design cues, especially the details on the MW antenna, look too similar to be coincidental.

A year ago, I might have bid, but I am having a little indigestion with some recent radio purchases, and perhaps a renewed appreciation for the benefits of digital tuning.

Angelo

It's nice. I wonder what it sold for when it was new?

I have a lot of indigestion with a lot of my misguided radio purchases. Dyspepsia does not become a radio nut.

The internet: the pre-eminent modern fidgeting/frittering.
Ebay perusal and web browsing in general I find horribly nerve-wracking activities. I never feel truly relaxed in front of a monitor: flushed ears, constant low-level bilious anxiety. (I do truly and completely relax with a good book.) Is this just me? I suspect there's something generational about it (Oldies like me certainly didn't grow up with it).

Mike W.

Stetsi, IMO nothing else covers a subject as well as a good book.

Reading snippets on the internet is fine but doesn't have the same depth to it.

Personally, I am generally comfortable while browsing the internet but sometimes feel anxiety about the security risks.

My usual warning-wouldn't take it at any cost!

Huesby: I guess the comments tell the story. A story of poorly built junk that is. Wow.

Huesby

Yes it could be junk but It's beautiful this radio, I'd gladly pay 50 dls for it.
