I've seen the Boston Acoustics Horizon Trio for as low as $280 on Amazon though today Amazon is featuring the Trio for $340. The Boston Acoustics Horizon Duo, without the iPod cradle, is consistently $120.
I can't see the Trio costing almost 300% more than the Duo just because it has an iPod cradle and CD player. The question, then, is this: Is the Trio offering vastly superior speaker system? If anyone knows, please inform us.
I'm very curious because I love my Duo and consider my best sounding radio. If the Trio sounds better, I'd be tempted to get one.
The physical size of the Trio and Duo cabinet leads me to believe both models are the same in terms of speakers and associated electronics. It would be too costly for BA to tool another, different enclosure for a model that won't sell as many units... I think they charge more for the Trio because they know they won't sell as many as the Solo or Duo, so they are trying to recoup some development, marketing & sales costs.

I agree. That appears to be the case. Crazy for the consumer.

Apparently, seller found a warehouse sale or maybe drove a DeLorean back in time 30 years and filled the car with these radios. New in box and he says he has more of the same model and will continue to list them. I like Ross radios. I would have jumped on this had I not just spent $30.00 plus shipping on an old, used Ross.
