The big Norelco radios of the 1960's are terrific receivers. I wonder if this is closely related to those.

I've been actively collecting radios for about 5 years. Forgive my ignorance, but why is this radio so expensive? It has a lot of bids, is over $800.00 and reserve hasn't been met (I still say reserves are a crock). Anyway, is it known as a great performer?

Angelo, I'm scratching my head at the price of that Fada myself, even if it is clean as a whistle. This link gives at least at little explanation, anyway :

Well, "FADA" isn't a good name for a radio company (fade?).
But I do get the collectibility aspect. Sort of like Arvin's Hopalong Cassidy radio----a slice of the times and probably rare.

ANGELO...but the philips 990 is a tanker and you know a thing about this...if they really want one to be sure, there is and a very effective one and the price will make him vouch for it with his head period.-
