Excellent condition RF-5000 seems priced right. If I had room for one and I didn't mind forking out the dough . . .

Jeff: If you still have your RF-3000, you're covered as far as suitcase Pannies go.

Yeah, I've got the attache. A little hum on AC.

Still a great radio. I sold mine for $200.00 and free shipping (and included a non-working companion). I think the RF-3000 is a more attractive and unique radio than the 5000. I have a Sony from roughly the same era---the Earth Orbiter.

You'll have to send us a brief review of the Orbiter, a very attractive tank of a radio.

Another vintage Panny. "Buy It Now" is probably on the high side, but the radio looks like a solid old performer---I haven't seen this model before.

Jeff,
Here is a thought for a thread for you: what are the top 5-10 best looking radios ever made... We've seen some nice ones lately, Sony's, Grundigs, Panny's, etc. which is the best looking from a "this baby can talk to venus viewpoint".

Off the top of my head:
Grundig S3400
Panasonic RF-888
Panasonic RF-1150
Sony Orbiter
Panasonic RF-3000
Sanyo (I can't remember number but Grundig S750 was modeled after it)

Jeff's list is pretty close to my initial reaction too.
As for the RF-5000, $266.00 is a healthy purchase. This radio looked to be in very high grade condition---not flawless, but darn good. I'd say buyer and seller did well here.
