The Grundig is made in Portugal, not Germany. I had one and it sounded great, but the pushbuttons were failing (the AM one was bad). As for the Panasonic, we're fast approaching "bye-bye" for TV Sound. I'm still annoyed over the whole move to digital TV.

I miss the vertical hold control on my old TV already.

Ed:
The last time I've fooled with vertical hold on a television set was in the 1980's and the set was made in the 60's or 70's. I don't own a digital TV either. I did buy a silly converter box with a government coupon and haven't opened it yet. I have cable, so as long as the cable doesn't fail, I probably won't need the converter box----but I bought it just in case. Funny though, television sets from the 1970's (Sylvanias, Sonys, Zeniths, etc.) are still going strong. New sets with the bells and whistles crap out after a power outage and you hear from the repair guy: "Ahh, yeah, it's the widgemicallit for the digital tuning whatchamisayit. A new one is the same price as a new TV, so you might as well just buy a new set with a bigger screen." Let's see how the flat digitals work out. I have a feeling it'll be $700.00 every few years.
