Congratulations again on your CCRADIO 2. Everything suggests you got a great radio. I am looking for your comparison of it against REDSUN 2100. Now, here is my new radio adventure story. On Friday, totally unexpected, I stumbled across TECSUN CR 1100 radio in one of local stores in Bosnia. It is a French version of TECSUN CR 1100, called MUSE. For those wishing to visit there website and see some other products go to www.muse-europe.com I was just over the moon, especially because it cost me only about $ 40, while, as I understand, one on e-bay costs something like $ 80, or so. So, I was pleased with that. I got home and put it to work. Let me note that my radio came with the AC adapter, which is also nice. Now the performance. I must say I was not overwhelmingly pleased with it. AM reception is probably close to REDSUN 2100, while it is a clear loser on FM against REDSUN 2100. While REDSUN can grab all extremely-tough-to-get stations with no problem and with just one pin pointing of its great telescopic antenna, MUSE is falling way, way behind. It doesn’t even try to get extra-hard-to-get stations; it only gets an overload of nearby station. Too bad. MUSE’s telescopic antenna cannot be moved in any direction. Ironically, its manual says you should pin point it in order to get better reception. I am glad I didn’t try to do so, as I would easily brake it. Same like yours first TECSUN CR 1100 my radio too had some initial problems with switching from one band to another, but that doesn’t seem to be the problem anymore. What I like about it is that it has a very nice speaker, probably nicer than Redsun’s harsh speaker. Overall, it’s definitely not the best quality radio. All technical details I provided few days earlier suggested this radio should be a clear winner on both AM and FM over REDSUN 2100; DSP reception especially raised the hopes. However, with sadness I must admit that my REDSUN 2100 for me remains the FM king of all radios. I am willing to be convinced otherwise. To be fair, BAHS grabs every station REDSUN does, but its frustrating piggy-tail antenna doesn’t help much. I wish they would put a real one on it. Which leads me to my final question: SANGEAN WR 2 has telescopic antenna, is its FM reception better than BAHS? It should be, right? Best! Ante, The Sangean WR-2 does NOT have a telescopic FM antenna.
