The much anticipated CCRadio 2 is now said to be in stock on the C.Crane website. I'm waiting to get one on Amazon with my many coupons.
I talked to a C.Crane service rep who said Amazon should feature it in a week or two. He also noted that the reviewers from RadioIntel will be receiving a sample soon and we all await their review. Finally, he said that the CCRadio 2, first available today, is selling briskly and the C.Crane staff is busily packing orders.

db,
If I am not mistaken, Sangean sold a rebranded version of the original CCR in Australia for what must have been a more reasonable price. Perhaps you will get the same with the new version with time.

My Sangean PR-D5 every now and then will shut down with a power failure notice on the digital display. I probably got a faulty one and should have sent it back before the year warranty expired. Dang. At least it's an excuse to get another CCR2 with my Amazon coupons. Hopefully Amazon will sell the CCR2 in another few weeks or so.

The far-sighted thing to do would be to call Crane now and inquire as to exactly which component in the CCR2 has been meticulously designed to crap out three months after the warranty expires.
This way you could order a replacement or two and actually get $159 worth of use out of a single radio.
