The much anticipated CCRadio 2 is now said to be in stock on the C.Crane website. I'm waiting to get one on Amazon with my many coupons.
I talked to a C.Crane service rep who said Amazon should feature it in a week or two. He also noted that the reviewers from RadioIntel will be receiving a sample soon and we all await their review. Finally, he said that the CCRadio 2, first available today, is selling briskly and the C.Crane staff is busily packing orders.

I may need one too, as the AM section on my BA Duo is also going bad-- gradually, it has become scratchy and distorted. Since your AM went bad too, I'm surmising there is a circuit/component defect that shows up after about a years' use.

Boston Acoustics sent me a replacement Duo, a brand new one. The reason on the return order form: "AM completely deteriorated."
The repair guy must have been fed up.

Huesby... I look forward to reading the Amazon reviews in about 6-12 months to see if they fixed the various issues (of the last model).

Hmmm...AM on my Panasonic 888 and Montgomery Wards 1970's set are going strong (as is AM on most of my other analog radios made before 2000).

Jeff, did you have to send in anything to BA to be covered for a replacement? I got a Solo from buy.com a few weeks ago and have sent nothing in...

I sent my Amazon order. BA gave me a new Duo, which I just put for sale on Amazon for 99 dollars. I need to make room for the CCR2.

Frankly, after reading the rave professional reviews of the Tecsun PL-330WT (for MW and FM, not SW), the CCradio2 has a tough competitor, at 1/2 the price. I suppose CCradio2's audio quality will be better than the Tecsun, and it has a tuning knob, and the 2-meter ham band. But how will it compare to the Tecsun in terms of raw AM/FM performance?

oops, I meant Tecsun PL-300WT, not PL-330WT.

Paul, we shall see. I bought a CCR2 on C.Crane website a few hours ago. If I like it, I'll buy another one. A review should be coming soon.

A C Crane CCR2 would be $(AU)272 once delivered to Australia. You would want it to be good for that amount. One of these new Tecsuns are $(AU)70 delivered.

I just noticed that the Grundig G3 (with sync) is seemingly now available...

I'd love to see the Radio Intel review, but since that site has not been updated in over a year, I'm not going to hold my breath.
