Dang, indeed.
In another curious parallel between my own radio experience and those you relate here on the blog, my PR-D5 has been doing the same thing for just a few days now.
I only notice it when I turn the set to re-orient the internal antenna, and was at first attibuting it to the power plug coming loose. Last night I noticed that was not the case, and just left it at that.
Isn't anything built to last anymore? Guess it will become another excuse to buy more radios...

Weird. My PR-D5 also shuts off when I'm re-directing for AM reception and yes I too thought I had a loose power plug. Say what?

You know what I thought when it happened?
That I wished someone would make a digital set with a rotating MW antenna. (I'm not counting the GS750)
My PR-D5 has no batteries in it when this happens - does yours?

Mike, if I'm not mistaken my PR-D5 shut down with and without batteries. Currently, it's without.

Lord. This hasn't happened with any of my radios, but then again, most of my radios are over 30 years old, when they were built to last longer than 18 months.
