Thanks to Paul, for this radio temptation: If you like vintage, how about the Sony ICF-J40 which has been manufactured for the past 20 years!? http://www.flickr.com/photos/meckel/2072295418/ Click on "ALL SIZES" to see a larger version of the photo. Again I cannot find a place online to order this. Speaking of radio eye candy, Mike W has alerted me to the Sony ICF-6000:

That Sony page is great. Did you notice the FX-300? AKA the 'Jackal' it is possibly the most manly radio not used in actual combat ever. check it out at http://www.sony.net/Fun/design/history/product/1970/fx-300.html where the caption reads, "joints give the dark metallic unit a rugged look." Indeed this thing and a couple joints back when there was analog broadcast TV would have led to many hours well spent. This guy is nowhere on the site: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170351093637&indexURL=2&photoDisplayType=2#ebayphotohosting or any other site. It's a nice price if the radio is a strong performer, the early FM preset function looks intriguing to say the least. I guess by telling this blog about it I am deciding not to pull the trigger on it- so if somebody knows anything about it, have at it.
Who needs a cure? There are always more radios.
