
The very melancholy news is in: Time Magazine reports the futility of exercise for losing weight. It's all about limiting calorie intake. How sad since I'm addicted to exercise and eating. This world was not made for a beast like myself.

I read that article a little while ago and was struck by how similar the point it makes is to much of what you have posted here in the past.
Rightly or wrongly, I skipped the gym today and bought mostly fruits & vegetables at the store.
(Moderate) exercise seems to be healthy for a number of reasons, but apparently it's wrong to cast it in terms of weight loss.
Weight loss seems to be about eating watermelon chunks instead of a doughnut, and bottled water instead of cola, etc.

I should stop complaining and eat my 3,000 calories a day like a man.
