Praised by DXers, the Sony ICF-EX5 usually goes for $200, but this one is $50 less.

Be sure to read the fine print: this is a USED EX5:
"(Ultra uncommonly, there is a loose connection of the band switch.)
This is Used goods.
There is a some scratch because of use. Little rust in an external antenna terminal but the battery room, there is no rust.
Because this goods are a little old goods, I exhibits by a little low price.
________
IMHO, this is NOT a low price because you don't know how old the receiver is or how much it has been used/abused. I don't like anything in this price range with rust or even an infrequent problem with the band switch.
The seller seems like a good guy when I have corresponded with him in the past. It is best to write him and ask when an EX5 in better condition will be coming up for auction. This goes with other receivers as well.

Norm, thanks for the heads-up. I should have read that. My bad. Thanks again.

I just received a Sony SRF-T615 from a Taobao agent (Obook), Taobao being China's equivalent of eBay. The prices are cheap, and it only took a little over 2 weeks to get the goods. The EX5 Mark 2 (newer version) can be had brand new, with fees and shipping, for around $200 via a Taobao agent, whereas you will pay $295 thru the only eBay seller with one on offer (and it's the older version). In light of this, $150 for a dodgy-looking used EX5 is not a good deal IMHO.
