Here's a curious offering, the SuperSonic SC-1091 AM/FM/SW 4-Band Clock Radio, selling on Amazon for $20 plus $7 shipping.
It's described as "ultra sensitive." I haven't tested it, but I'm skeptical of this claim. On the other hand, how far can you go wrong for $27?
If you look on eBay, you'll probably find its original clone, perhaps made my Kchibo or Tecsun.
Update: Val found the clone, a Tecsun selling for almost twice as much when you include shipping:
Here it is, original clone, $ 23.90; I saw its Roadstar version.. Light feel, cheap, not a very good radio.

"...how far can you go wrong for $27?"
Looks like you got yourself a full twenty-seven US dollars worth of wrong there, buddy.

Plus this radio doesn't intrigue me in the slightest. It's weird that a low-end SW receiver is for sale on Amazon.

I am not skeptical about Chinese product, cheap radio. In Japan I bought some radio made in China but Japanese company Elpa, it is super small 12 bands receiver and excellent performer .

It's a variation on the Tecsun R-333. Has also sold as the Coby CX39, etc. I once owned a version - horribly sloppy tuning (manual with digital readout - some versions have a fine tuning wheel as well, which should improve tuning), a ferrite rod that could fit into a pocket portable. Onboard AC adapter, long life on C cells, illuminated display, alarm and good sound don't really compensate... At best a general house knock-around.

Make that D cells. I believe the original Tecsun R-333 is the best version. There are several obviously "cheapened" versions like the one I had.

Getting a clearer memory of it now. Just looked in my "radio closet" - I've still got the box! I had the CX-39 version, identical to that pictured above. It was without doubt the most insensitive, non-selective, mid-size portable I've ever owned. Rubbish. I gave it away. The present undemanding owner is happy with it as a kitchen radio.

Yeah, Stetsi, looks like a waste of money. Thanks for confirming it.

Actually the original Tecsun R-333 is supposed to be a good radio. See review at
