Been looking for a table radio for years. I opened the box at CTC just out of curiosity with little hope of finding something more than the gammut of cheap crap radios the shelves are full of. Looked good! Sounded good at home, with better AM reception than most my radios and as good as my $500 Sony. Much better than the BOSCH $229 workshop radio which I tried and was ready to buy from Amazon. Outstanding styling, color and cabinet texture! Heavy duty wire and 3prong plug. Handle on top for moving around, very solid construction! Can even be used with batteries. Big con is no earphone jack or input, I guess you can't have everything. I love this thing, had it for 3 months and just bought a second one. This little "Lunch Box" is a best kept secret. Peter K.

Does Canadian Tire ship to the USA?

Tom, that's a good question. I don't know. I keep thinking it's a Sangean, but maybe it's made by someone else.

Sangean has a number of new radios in the pipeline, but nothing like this radio. Search Flickr.Com to see what I mean.
I called their 1-800, but the Canadian Tire folks had gone home today.

Lunchbox radio is distributed by this company: http://www.synnex.com/about_SYNNEX/office_locations.html
I left a message and hope to get more info on USA availability.

Tom, thanks. I wonder how it compares to the Sangean U3 in terms of price and performance.

The Lunchbox radio model has been a success in Europe for more than 2 years now and is very popular on jobsites. It is compact and not oversized like many jobsite radio out there (big size, no power). Designed in German style (modest, functional) by Perfectpro, built by Sangean. www.perfectpro.eu
The quality is in its performance not in its brand name. It was even selected by top German toolbrand Festool http://shop.ebay.nl/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=festool+radio&_sacat=See-All-Categories
