When I asked if the $150 Sony SRF-T615 was the best pocket radio one could buy, Kevin responded by writing, "I would add that, in answer to Jeff's provocative title question, the new Tecsun PL-310 is probably the best pocket radio around. However, you need a decent-sized pocket for the PL-310, while the T615 is so small it will slip into any ol' pocket ya got."

I should have mine by mid week. The Tecsun PL 310 takes an odd number of AA batteries, 3!

how can it be the best pocket radio when its that big, doesnt tune SSB, and doesnt tune VHF and UHF? i'll stick with my VR-500

Kevin does stipulate that the Tecsun is rather big when he ranks it.

Hi Able:
You're right, it doesn't do SSB or UHF/VHF. My opinion was based on looking at the PL-310 as an AM/FM set, which are the only bands/modes covered by the T615, and which Jeff provocatively speculated might be the best pocket radio.
