I visited DEGEN’s official website and there is still no information about this radio; so, I guess it might be a while before it’s available.

I am very interested in this one. I like its layout. I wonder if the button's are backlit.

Yeah, backlighted buttons according to what I've read. Those were popular on the E5/G5. Aesthetically pleasing and, of course, very useful in the dark (after you turn off those horrible RF-generating mercury light bulbs.)

Aha! I thought I had seen this before. Muse Europe has advertised it for several months as its M-089RS. Check out their pre-production sales brochure at:
http://www.muse-europe.com/images/1237967273.pdf
I contacted Muse several weeks ago to see when their new models were coming out, and they said "in a few months...".
I note that Muse Europe was under the initial impression that it would have recessed buttons, whereas the Degen DE1106 has raised buttons. Otherwise the screen and the button layout look the same. The Muse literature says it is a DSP set, but with only two bandwidths, I question whether or not it will be a DSP set. Plus, Chinese pre-production literature is known to be sketchy. At any rate, since the G3 was not a true DSP set, chances are this one won't be either.

Seems they use the entire top half of the digital display just for the RDS readout. Odd.

Hopefully they also fix the birdies and hash on MW AM that some reviewers of the G3 have noted. If they can produce a radio that in every way equals the DE1103 and G5, and adds working sync detection and sideband-selectable SSB, then I'll be interested in getting one of these.

@ Kevin S :
Amazing, I also have contacted Muse for the same reason about 4 months ago, but they told me :
"Hello,
We regret to inform you that this model will not be commercialized.
Best regards.
The Commercial Service"
Anyway, I will wait for the Degen instead of the Muse, haha !

For what it's worth, the new batches of the Grundig G3 reportedly have a sync detector that actually works. I'm sending in mine for a warranty replacement and will let you know my take.
