I am looking forward to receiving my RF-888 on your recommendation. I purchased mine last week on ebay with a "Buy it Now" price of $39. It has some wear you would expect (according to the buyer) and has the power cord, clean battery compartment and strap and everything works. I know this radio has many inputs, can you connect and iPod directly or with some adapter cable?

Are you being facetious? It has no inputs. To hear your ipod, I suggest using an FM transmitter module with the ipod, and tuning it in on the RF-888's FM band.

Not true as far as I can tell from pics of one on ebay. It does have a mic line in. Maybe so it can be used as a PA loud speaker?

It's got 5 inputs of various types. I don't know which one, if any, would hook up to an iPod.

I guess I will wait and see. I thought it had several inputs (thanks Jeff) which may be able to be adapted for an iPod. We shall see...

My 888 has five 1/8" jacks, but only one or two of them appear to be capable of taking an input. One is the mic input, and the other says "Rhythm In/Rec Out." My RF-1600, on the other hand, has a phono jack on the back with a switch that allows me to easily connect a music player. I have used the RF-1600 to connect to my better crystal sets when I want to listen to one of the crystal sets without using headphones.

I play my Zune HD MP3 player through my RF-888 all the time. I use a stereo-to-mono adapter from Radio Shack and connect my Zune HD to the MIC input jack on the RF-888. Then, I turn down the RF-888's main volume control all the way and use the MIC MIXING control on the speaker side of the RF-888 to adjust the volume of whatever the Zune HD is playing. Very simple setup, and it works well.
