(Re-post)
In The Geography of Bliss, Eric Weiner cites a University of Chicago survey about happiness. The least happy people work as lawyers, doctors, and bankers (I'm intrigued that doctors aren't considered a helping profession).
The happier people work as clergy, physical therapists, nurses, and firefighters (I'm intrigued that Weiner doesn't include teachers in his list).
Weiner explains that "selfish altruism" results in our happiness.
