(Re-post) I`ve received my Acoustic Research AV100 Table Radio/Ipod docking. I am really pleased with the purchase...I think for $99 it is really a gem. Construction quality is extremely good, the looking is retro-modern and it is a true piece of conversation when the tubes glow..nice! The important side: The reception (both AM and FM) is great! I was reluctant about that topic, but after doing my "local " tests with the weakest, hardest stations on AM and FM, the AR is a winner in my location. FM: extremely sensitive and selective, better than the SANGEAN WR-2 (IMO) in a side by side comparison. AM: No problem at all to tune the hardest stations with no background noise, despite the fact of the frame antenna provided (not the better antenna for MW by the way) Finally, of course: the sound: warm, sweet, well balanced...a real pleasure. I strongly recommend to grab one of these units while last.. at $99 you will appreciate my suggestion.
