I saw a dark gray (with hints of purple?) Audi R8 in the March 2010 issue of Road & Track and did a double-take on the purple-gray one featured. The writer said he got a lot of stares, including a teenage kid who photographed the R8 with his phone.
I found this R8 selling in Mission Viejo on Cars.com for a mere $130,000. It's the same color. I must remember what Kierkegaard said: "Fulfillment is in the wish."

Have you though about how much money it's gonna cost on gas expenses an 8 cyl turbo machine ?...

It's okay. If someone can afford 130K on a car, they can afford the gas too. If they can't afford the gas for 8 cylinders, time to visit their local Kia dealer. By the way, that's not a putdown of Kia----some of their new cars are very nice. But if you've got the bucks, the gas is an afterthought.

Regarding the color---It's cool, but I don't know if it will age well, meaning still be "cool" in a few years. I might opt for black on this car. I don't need the acceptance of a teenager with a cell phone camera. I already have that with my 1979 Monza.

Jeff, there is only one car for you, and at 195 mph, it eats R8's for lunch:

I think it's 80 grand too.
