Readers have lamented the demise of the Redsun RP-3100. Is Anjan going to make a table top radio that might step in the shoes of the much longed for Redsun?
Andreas has sent us a product image link to the Anjan DTS-10, which looks very promising.
No sooner had I posted this, Andreas had more info for us:
Here is what I found out: When I open the Anjan Website http://www.anjan.cn/ I see a pop-up with an ad for the DTS-10. That might be a hint, that it is NO vaporware...
And google translator is our friend:
| Thank enthusiasts has always been a favorite of the security key to the radio, the DTS-10 desktop security key concern of big machines! |

And here is a good photo.

I like what I've seen from Anjan. They seem to be selective about what they release, at least in the U.S.
From what I can tell, their radios are priced at "fair market value" for what they are----and they look pretty solid for 2010.

This radio seems to be exactly what I would like to have...

Anjan has manufactured small portable radios in the past and their reviews have just been so-so.

Oh but this looks suspiciously like the Kaito 2100 which left a few of us with a bad taste in our mouth, or should I say a distorted sound in our ear, eh Jeff?

Ed, as you know, I tried to like the Kaito 2100. I had 3 versions but hated the speaker sound. Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, but I'm hoping this Anjan offering sounds more like the Grundig S350 and has the 350's FM power and is better than the S350 on AM. Do I have my doubts? Yes.

A question for Ed: Do DSP chips REDUCE the actual number of parts in a radio's design?
I suspect so, but I'm not an engineer.

Picture's been around forever... I'll believe it when I see it. I'm betting vaporware.

Seller TakeRadio says that the Anjan DTS10 has DSP and SYNC, but that seems quite dubious. Wait till futher information about that. Probably the DTS10 is no more than a DTS09 in a bigger case, with a few knobs replacing some keys.
