In an act of independent-minded courage, Colin Cowherd criticized ESPN, his employer, today for diluting its product by expanding its coverage of everything, trying to add too much selection, and scrutinizing the minutiae of every sports scenario.
Cowherd wants leaner, meaner sports coverage. "Tighten it up," he said. In other words, cover the urgent games more and leave the rest.
He said too much of a good thing was compromising his show, which he recently cut down from 4 to 3 hours a day.
This call for more focus, and making things leaner and meaner, conflates with Cowherd's confession today that he's in "therapy" with a life coach who's teaching him to focus more. Cowherd says he's battling a serious case of ADD. He's confident he'll have his ADD licked in a month.
Cowherd is a complete wimp. Seriously, all 130 pounds of him. Him and Tony Kornheiser should have a pillow fight to see who is the biggest wimp in sports broadcasting.
And Cowherd he does is complain, complain, complain, and make idiotic statements.
Tony Bruno of Fox Sports is 100 times better. Even Dan Patrick is better.

I wish I had the privilege of annoying and chafing millions of listeners with my own sport talk radio show. Oh well. Back to the blog.

Wishful thinking that "he'll have his ADD licked in a month." That's not so much a condition as a sentence. He'll always have it and drugs only change your personality, not the condition. I have a super-intelligent friend with Asberger's and he's tried everything. The Effexor and other drugs make him more pleasant to be around but he's still like a drag racing car with snow tires. He just can't get all the horsepower to work for him.

Funny, 3 years ago or so my wife speculated that I have a touch of Asberger's, a fancy name for "I'm a geek." I workout a lot to hid the geek within.

You may have some geek in you but you don't have Asberger's. My friend would be incapable of writing as well as you do and he couldn't handle running the blog at all. He's an attorney who does extremely well at contract law and reading legal documents. He was a disaster at being a trial lawyer though. He doesn't hear the first word of sentences he hears but will wake up the next day with a clear and accurate record of what was said. Asberger's is weird but unmistakable as it's a certain form of Autism.

I'm sure I don't have it. My wife was joking that when I get obsessed with something, I dig in like a pit-bull and can behave rather comically and ridiculously. Like putting a U3 by my bedside.
