(Re-post)
Paul informed me of a mint condition RF-1200 on eBay for Buy Now of $49.95. I snatched it in seconds and it arrived today, a shiny silver beast, its heavy construction suggesting high build quality. I plugged in the built-in AC, which is tucked away in a upscale screw-on lid, and played away. There are no scratches on volume or the tuner. When tuning, the movement is not as smooth as its big brother, the RF-3000. Also, pinpointing FM stations takes time. You have to be patient. Once you've found the sweet spot, the reception is terrific.
AM is easier to lock-in. And of course I appreciate the no-background AM sound, which vintage Panasonics and Sonys are famous for.
The speaker is loud and crisp, much louder than my Sangean WR-2 and Sangean PR-D5. I like the shiny silver color.
Like my RF-888, RF-1130, and RF-3000, this Panny RF-1200 reinforces why I'm such a fan of vintage Panasonics, especially from the 1970 era.

Handyman's Special (if you know how to fix a tuning string). This is a really pretty radio and might go cheap.
