Specs read as if it's a legacy ATS-909 with added DSP and really cool switchology and display. It'll remain to be seen if the DSP really enhances performance - remember the early Grundig G3/Sync Detect debacle?
I'd be really impressed if the ATS-909X gave the owner the ability to install the firmware updates that'll fix the inevitable early bugs. Heck, my cheapo MP3 player lets me do that!

I believe that the new Sangean CL-100 has DSP. It seems to enhance the reception and clarity of the signals that one does strongly receive.

Very intesting radio that's a bit to big/expensive to be a portable and too small to have a decent speaker. Certainly one to watch though.

If it's not vaporware, betchya it'll have the damned DSP soft mute.

Small speaker, 3 inch! Fairly small size. Size: 8.8" W x 5.3" H x 1.5" D. Weight: 1.5 lbs.
$300 with taxes, too much money for me these days.
If it had been the size of my CCRadioSW I might have considered it.

Although the 909x's are flying off the shelves, Crane claims that they have not had the time to test the sets to even have a first impression as compared to the 909 that it replaces. When I said that their site had said that they would put a review online, the gentleman said to not expect any such thing for at least another month. Grove had a similar response...no time, the units are flying out the door, Mr. Grove checked one out before sending it out to fulfill his orders, but hadn't indicated any first impressions.
I like my old 909 with the Crane tuning knob mod, especially for the ham bands, AFRT, and aviation as one can go deliberatly 1 KHz at a time, and then fine tune at 40 KHz increments. I hope the new 909x is crisper on audio when not in ssb mode. Wonder if the additional am rf stage will make the set noticeably more sensitive.
Anyone that has ordered...lets hear your 1st impressions!
