
I heard NPR talk to Fortune writer Beth Kowitt about her Fortune article about the great pains TJs maintains to keep its company practices secret, in part to beat their competition and in part to maintain their earthy-crunchy facade for their customers.
One interesting highlight: Stacy's Pita Chips are not some boutique food company but are in fact owned by Pepsi-Frito-Lay.

BTW, Trader Joe's is owned by a German company.
