Readers pointed out, correctly, that the new Grundig S450DXL, featured on Universal Radio, was inaccurately described as "analog," partly evidenced by the fact that it's a rebadged Redsun RP-2100. Universal has changed the description, with the word "analog" deleted.
I was never a fan of the speaker sound on the Redsun RP-2100, but I anticipate the bigger speaker on the S450 will be more to my tastes and I plan on buying one as soon as it's available, sometime this fall.

Crap. I wish it was analog. However it seems to have some of the things that kept me from getting the 2100 to begin with like a line in and more pleasant sound. I may just get one as well.

Hope it's not vaporware. Nice looking radio!

Correction... The speaker on the RP-2100 and the S350 and the S350DL has always been the same.... I think with the S350DLX it'll be the same...

Are you sure about that Huesby? At least according to the specs listed on nevadaradio.co.uk, it will have a 5-inch speaker. The RP-2100 is only 4-inches. However, the width of the grill as measured in MS Paint is only 40.3% of the width the radio, or 40.3% of 12.2 inches, or 4.9 inches - so there's probably no way that its a 5-inch speaker.

For what it's worth, C. Crane says the CCRadio-SW, which is essentially the same as the RP2100, has a 5" speaker. The grill on my CCR-SW is about 5" wide.
A couple of the eBay descriptions of the RP2100 that I looked at also mention a 5" speaker.

Looks like a cool radio. I have both the CCRadio-SW and the Eton S350DL, so this intrigues me. From the pic, the only thing I don't like is the top strap (also don't like the strap on my S350DL). I realize it's part of the "field radio" look and what separates it from the others, but I'd rather have the swing-up plastic handle.
It will be interesting to see the differences between this radio, the S350DL and the many versions of the RP-2100.
