A Stunning Substitute for Those Who Can't Afford a $5,000 U-Boat: A $350 Nixon 51-30 in Gunmetal

 

I have to admit my heart sinks when I see a $5,000 U-Boat, but I found the cure, a Nixon 51-30 in gunmetal with black dial.

The bracelet fits my 8-inch wrist perfectly. I love the heavy feel on my wrist. The bezel is 51 mm.

This is a classic watch, great for the price. Ebay sellers are featuring these as a Buy Now for between $345-450. I bought mine for $345 and free shipping. 

Amazon Now Selling the Biggest Boy in Town, the Invicta Sea Hunter

With a humungous 60 mm bezel, the Invicta Sea Hunter is now selling on Amazon. Everywhere I've looked the price is around $500. I'm waiting for the price to drop a hundred dollars or so. I should add that this is a striking watch and internet photos do it no justice.

Lo and behold, at about 1:40 in the video, it looks like former NYC Mayor Ed Koch has himself a Sony TFM 7720 on his cab! You featured this radio a while back in a link to an E Bay auction. I assumed the convention is to wear a watch on the left hand but is that the convention? Does it matter? I wear mine on my left; my father-in-law wears his on his right.
