Only after a few months I notice fog underneath the dial of my gunmetal Nixon 51-30. I'll walk the twins to Watch City today and see what the charge is. If I had to guess, I'd say the watch arrived with the mist already under the dial and I just noticed it recently. This hunch is evidenced by old photos which show the mist in the center. I bought it on eBay and I'd have to look up the seller and see if he's still a registered seller and see if he's still liable. Sounds easier to simply spend $30 or so getting the watch de-fogged.
Update: The Watch City rep told me to send it to Nixon under the warranty. My out of pocket cost will be $23 plus shipping from my end, about $15. Nixon may replace it if they can't fix it.
Have you tried to do it yourself? Here's one example using rice. http://chrisabraham.com/2008/12/15/how-i-finally-defogged-my-seiko-diver/ I'd be tempted to put it in a tupperware with the crown unscrewed and a cup of desiccant. You can buy silica gel desiccant at walmart in the dry flowers section and sometimes at the grocery in the cleaning section. Maybe warm it on a lightbulb or something before it goes into the desiccant container so that it cools as it sits in there.

you call that fog, you ought to see my 3 year old timex ironman watch. it looks like a rain forest in there. you can't see any numbers or letters or anything. solid moisture. i could probably use it as a terrarium.

Put it in a ziplok bag of rice for a couple of days. Should do the trick.

I wonder what causes the sweating? Could it be an unseated gasket that allows moisture inside?
