Trust me Jeff... any of these issues can be eliminated by avoiding Facebook altogether. All the cloud-based social media is way overrated. I'm sure you have much more meaningful "social" time when chatting with neighbors, while taking the twins for a peaceful stroller ride through the neighborhood.

David, I limit my daily facebook time to 10 minutes so I doubt I'll get lost in the clouds.

If they're like me, I just crank my privacy settings as high as they can go, and that sometimes even limits what my friends can see.
