Tom,
I can't put my hands on the manual, but I fiddled with my DE17 and found that when the radio is off the + and - keys in the top right change the sleep timer duration.
Love the radio except for the 9kz AM tuning. Does any one know how to switch it to 10?
Have a great weekend every one.
Keith

Hello Paul,
I am sorry that we don't have English Manual for this model as it is only for domestic sale.
For any further enquiry, please feel free to contact us.:)

Does anyone who owns the Degen DE17 know how to get the FM band to tune from 64 mhz? It looks like from the Japanese handbook that you rock the FM/MW switch but I have tried that but it doesn't seem to work it just goes to MW. Does anyone have the answer? Apart from that great little radio on all bands. Wendy

I note the makers reply to Paul,if it's only for domestic sale why are controls in English & not Chinese?, I have a Kchibo D55,keys labeled Chinese but English manual supplied

Just received this from Degen Hong Kong.It seems it depends who answers your email,
Dear Bob,
As this model is only available for sales in China market, so am wondering where did you purchase this radio? Can you give us some information so we can forbid this wholesaler in China, thanks!
For the English IB of DE17, I will ask our team to specially translate it for you but please allow us some time.
Regards,
Customer Service

Hello Bob,
I'd love a copy of the English manual if you're willing to share!
Just purchased the DE17 off eBay, would be handy to have it in English :)

Bob: Same thing just happened to me (but not as fast as you!)... went to change batteries, 10 centimetre drop on a bench... now not working.
Oy :/

Replacement arrived still working after 5 days, sounds like you may have a bad solder joint Oy which the drop highlighted. It's easy to take apart, one screw on the back cover & two very small ones in the battery tray then ease the back off with a thin blade, the ferrite aerial bar was loose on my first one but the journey from China to the UK may have caused that

KEITH
If you still have problem with the AM range, long press the battery button when the radio is off & 09 or 10 will appear, when you change batteries it will revert to factory setting
