It's no secret that I like huge, bold, aggressive watches that are between $200-300. As a result, I have many Invicta models ranging in bezel diameter from 52-60mm. These models include Russian Divers, Leviathans, Sea Hunters, Subaqua Specialty, etc.

However, the perfect Invicta in terms of design, aesthetics, and functionality has to go to my two "small" 46mm Ocean Reefs, the gunmetal version, model number 6761, and the all-silver version, model 6146.

The Ocean Reefs are part of the Reserve Collection, meaning hand-made quality and it shows in the fit and feel. When you turn the crown on an Ocean Reef, you can feel its superior craftsmanship.

I tend to wear the silver with "cool" colors and the gunmetal with "warm" colors; however, there are no color coordinating rules, per se, just a preference.

The gunmetal version has a starker contrast between numerals, indices, and dial color making it the better choice for readability in the dark.

I bought the 6146 on a one-day sale for $139 and the 6761 used on eBay for $100. It's funny that as someone who developed a taste for XL watches the last 5 years or so, I've gravitated toward these relatively "miniscule" Ocean Reefs. Both are highly recommended if you can get them for under $220 or so.
