My C.Crane SW Radio just arrived from Amazon. I selected 89.3 FM for my first preset, pushed memory, but the station jumped to 90.00 and indicated it was on preset 2. Whenever I do this, the radio jumps to some other frequency with a different preset number attached.
I tried resetting the radio but that didn't work. Anything I can do other than sending it back.
Update:
My use of the radio proved defective. The radio is fine. I was pressing the wrong memory button.
Jeff - See below for what it says in the manual. Is this what you're doing? Since the presets can only be accessed in carousel fashion, by increasing number, I usually don't bother with them. Just a few turns of the tuning knob gets you from one end of the dial to the other, so I usually just tune this way.
MEMORY SET
The CCRadio SW has 10 memories per band: AM, FM, SW1, SW2, and SW3.
To memorize a station, tune to it, then press the Mem/Set button. The word Preset will flash with a memory number below it. If this is the memory number you want for this station, press Mem/Set to complete while Preset is flashing. If this is not the memory number you want press the Up Arrow or Down Arrow button to pick a memory number between 1 to 10 then press Mem/Set to complete. You must do this while Preset is flashing or you will have to start over.

Gary, the radio isn't responding like the instructions say. Random preset numbers show up and the frequency jumps to some random number. Furhter, pressing the Up or Down arrow does NOT move the preset number. The number simply vanishes.
I've had 3 of these before and I set up presets no problem. I'm currently recharging batteries (which uses same button while radio is off). As soon as charge is complete, I'll try presets again.

Jeff, you will agree that presets on this radio are not user friendly, even when they are working. I don't even bother to use mine. I just use the tuning wheel to change the station. I find it less time consuming then going through presets.

Still not working. I hold memory and the station I want jumps to another station with a random preset number. How do I erase the existing presets? Is this a used or returned radio?

Have you tried to RESET the unit and start over?

Jeff - It sounds like you're pressing the Memory button where the instructions say to press the Mem/Set button.
The Memory button is the one to move to the next preset. The Mem/Set button is used to set the presets.

I have a CCraneSW radio that won't turn on. When batteries or the AC is connected the clock starts and the battery icon and the timer icons show but I can't get it to turn on. None of the buttons work but the one lights up the buttons for night use. Reset doesn't work. Tried that many times with batteries in place and without. Any ideas?

Nice Looking Radio, I am a avid admirer and recognise quality radio's from Panasonic, Philips, from the old 90's days, heavy stainless steel, obviously not the cheap ones, you do get of what you pay for.
