Your many recommendations gave me a lot of valuable information. In the end, I think I'll end up getting (eventually) the Audioengine A2 speakers. They're not cheap, but the heart wants what the heart wants.

I've got the self powered Audioengine A5's and they are an awesome value.

The nice thing is that there are no wires permanently attached to the speakers. One less thing to go bad!

David, are you talking about the A5s only? Or all the Audioengine speakers?

The A5's are self powered so you don't need to hook them up to an amplifier. They are not wireless however.
I use them as the audio for my Mac Mini, Apple TV and my plasma TV. It's nice because I don't need to clutter my living room with a bulky receiver. The new A5+ is an improved model and includes a remote control.

I forgot to mention that they are really solidly built and have kevlar speakers.

Jeff, I was referring to the very nice looking A2s.
