I agree with Mark Roberts that Bullwinkle was as good in my childhood as it is today, rich in humor and a kind of subversive satire that would make the 30 Rock writers proud.

Degen DE1128/ Eton G2: a mixed bag?
G2 is due on sale in April (according to Universal Radio) but the Chinese version DE1128 has been available for a few weeks (for around 60 dollars from online retailers).
A Chinese user bought three DE1128s and compared them to DE1103 and Tecsun PL390. Here is his findings(from: http://bbs.tecsun.com.cn/0002.asp?open=419609)
FM DX: huge sample to sample variation: one 1128 with clear reception, one with some noise and the third with strong noise
SW: there are also sample to sample variation: two perform to about the same level and the third one is noisy.
MW: all three are hopeless (see below)
FM compare to DE1103: the best 1128 sample is about as good as DE1103
SW compare to DE1103: 1128 is less sensitive and prone to local interference
MW compared to DE1103: 1128 is hopeless
Compare to PL390: 390 has better FM/MW but slightly inferior SW (a bit more noisy).
Sound: crisp, but not as good as PL390 for listening over a prolonged period.
Another use opened up his 1128 and took a few photos:

Which might answers the question why 1128 performs so badly on MW: a 6cm ferrite bar is used for MW reception (in the last photo, the long broken ferrite bar is from a DE1103).
